A morning coffee outside. A comfortable place to return to after exploring Nusa Penida. Somewhere to leave a little time between your plans. When you choose a room at Deep Roots Dive & Yoga Resort, those everyday holiday moments are a good place to start.

Our resort has ten Mountain View Cottages and six Garden View Rooms, set among tropical planting. Each category offers its own outdoor space and a different outlook. This guide will help you decide which setting you would most enjoy coming back to.

Mountain View Cottage: a balcony with an island outlook

The Mountain View Cottages are individual, standalone units with balconies overlooking the ocean towards Mount Agung. Outdoor seating gives you somewhere to enjoy that outlook without leaving your cottage.

Choose this category if a view is an important part of your holiday. You might picture a quiet coffee on the balcony before breakfast, or a little time outside when you return from an island outing. Mountain visibility changes with the weather, so every day brings its own outlook.

The cottages sit within the resort’s tropical gardens. If you like the idea of your own separate cottage and a balcony as part of your stay, start by exploring the Mountain View Cottage photographs and room details.

Garden View Room: your own terrace among the greenery

The Garden View Rooms look onto tropical greenery and have private terraces. Inside, modern interiors and soft tones continue the relaxed garden setting.

This category may suit you if you enjoy having a leafy outdoor corner where you can sit with a book or take a break between activities. Make the terrace part of your morning, or leave some time to enjoy it after a day out.

Explore the Garden View Room photographs to see the interior and terrace. Pay attention to the outdoor setting as well as the bedroom: the place where you want to spend your quieter moments can help make the decision.

Comforts you will find in both room types

Both categories can be arranged with a king bed or twin beds, making either worth considering for couples or friends travelling together. Let the team know your preferred arrangement when booking.

Air conditioning, a ceiling fan, Wi-Fi and a Smart TV are available in both room types. You will also find a coffee machine, an electric kettle, a mini refrigerator and Sensatia Botanicals toiletries. The difference in outlook gives each category its character, while these shared comforts help you settle into your stay.

When comparing photographs, look first at the room category you are considering. If a particular feature matters to you, ask the team to confirm it for the room available on your dates.

Plan your stay around the resort, too

Your room is one part of your time at Deep Roots. The resort also brings together the on-site Deep Roots Diving Centre, The Leaf Yoga Shala, The Terrace Restaurant and swimming pools.

You could build your visit around diving, make time for a yoga class, or leave a day open to enjoy the resort. Both accommodation categories give you a base for those plans.

Check the activities you are interested in separately when organising your stay, including their availability, requirements and charges. If you want help bringing your room and activity plans together, tell our team what you would like to do.

What to check before you book

Once you have a favourite, compare the available options for your actual travel dates. Review the room category, bed arrangement, number of guests, rate inclusions and cancellation conditions together.

If you are travelling with children, ask about the arrangements for your whole group before choosing a room. If steps or walking distances are a concern, discuss the route to the available room with reception before booking.

These details are worth confirming directly rather than judging them from a photograph. A clear idea of who is travelling and what matters most to you will help the team recommend an appropriate option.

Choose the setting you would enjoy coming home to

Start with the Mountain View Cottage if you are drawn to a standalone cottage and a balcony looking towards Mount Agung. Start with the Garden View Room if you picture yourself spending time on a private terrace surrounded by greenery.

Then explore our accommodation and check availability for your dates through the existing room-booking link. If you would like help choosing, email hello@deeproots-penida.com with your dates, number of guests and preferred bed arrangement. We will help you plan your Deep Roots stay.
